Novato teens often feel lost on how to spend time during the winter break. Let’s make this a fun and exciting winter for all and have a wonderful time during this holiday season. Winter time gives people a time to embrace their holiday spirit. There are a variety of activities to explore. Some people go up to the Sierras to go skiing or snowboarding. I am one of those people. I enjoy spending a good majority of my time snowboarding down the powder-filled mountains.
Another exciting winter event is the upcoming festival called “Snow Globe” in South Lake Tahoe. This is a very popular music festival, which offers over twenty musicians and artists of different genres. Some musicians that are playing at Snowglobe are Khalid, Travis Scott, Louis the Child, Flume, Jai Wolf, and many more. This is one exciting and upbeat event, if your looking to listen to some wonderful tunes and have a special time with friends and even family.
Over winter break, another one of my favorite things to do is visit Union Square in San Francisco and go down to Union Square. It is like a winter wonderland around the ice rink, with all the beautiful lights in the Macy’s window and the giant christmas tree that is 83 feet tall and has over 30,000 lights.
Two weeks off is a great time for Novato High students to unwind.
“Cuddling in bed is one of my favorite things to do during the winter. Video games and chillin’ with my friends is always nice,” said Jason Hines, a senior here at Novato High School.
Other fun holiday activities can be making smores by the fireplace, sledding in the snow, making yummy, decorative cookies, and making glittery snow slime. All of these activities are super fun and entertaining.
Sofia Shone, another senior here at Novato High School shared her thoughts about her favorite holiday activity.
“I would say my favorite holiday activity would be going skiing with my friends and enjoying a fun time in the snow with my family and friends,” said Shone. “My favorite places to go skiing at are Squaw Valley located in Tahoe or in Idaho where some of my closest relatives live.”
All of these holiday activities makes everyone super excited for the winter. These are just a few things that people enjoy doing to get in the holiday spirit. Christmas is a time for family and friends to come together and appreciate life.
