Dharma Bartram

​Dharma Bartram is a senior at Novato High School. She is the Editor-in-Chief of The Swarm, having rebooted the newspaper last year in the form of a club until it became a class. She reports for the Swarm in addition to creating the layout for the print edition. Bartram is also Editor of the NHS yearbook and not only photographs for the publication but also creates and edits the layouts of pages. She played volleyball for 7 years, 2 of which were at Novato High, and played one season of varsity Golf. Bartram also volunteers as a Peer Health Promoter at the Novato Teen Clinic. In her free time, she explores the outdoors and spends time with her friends. Bartram is looking to attend UCLA, UCSB or USC and major in either communications or journalism.

​North Bay Wildfires Impact 
Daily Lives

On the evening of October 8th, wildfires began to ravage Santa Rosa and other parts of Sonoma and Napa Counties, resulting in thousands of evacuees and displaced persons, hundreds of injuries and over 40 fatalities. Additionally, hundreds of thousands acres were charred by the blazes, and a thick layer of smoke covered the Bay Area skies. This affected the daily lives of everyone in its crosshairs.

On May 25th, 2016, a group of assailants, including Novato High students Edwin Guevara and Juan Carlos Martinez Henriquez allegedly attacked two other Novato students. The results were tragic, as Edwin Ramirez Guerra was killed while Llefferson Diaz was severely injured near the Marin Country Club.
